7 sierpnia 2018 ustanowiono nowy rekord pierwszego regionu IARU w łączności MS. Stacje DJ6AG i EA8TX przeprowadziły łączność MS na odległość 3472 km w paśmie 2 m.

"Fernando, EA8TX is very busy in making new records. This year there is often a very strong tropo duct from EA8 to south Spain/Portugal. In the night of our QSO his MS-signal was stable with 9+20dB in south Spain/Portugal over a long time. It was around the peak of perseids, so my MS-signal reached about 2000km just to get into the tropo duct, which began at that point in south Portugal.
Many tactors were needed:
A strong tropo duct between EA8 and Portugal
Very good meteor scatter conditions
A quite band (so we tried during the night)
A lot a pantience (I knew, that it would take more than 2 hours - we got it in 3 hours and 18 minutes)."
